David Jones Development
Our Director was appointed by David Jones to project manage the redevelopment of 310 Bourke Street building including multi-level demolition, new structure, additional floor levels, new façade and a full store retail fitout. Originally a stitching of 11 separate building structures, the demolition of 5 floors to create basement and loading facilities was complex. Consistent liaison with the Myer development taking place next door required a coordinated approach between project managers and builders on the constrained access via Little Bourke Street. Both projects were successfully completed, creating a revitalised retail mix for the centre of Melbourne
Concurrently a full store fitout over 5 floors of the 299 Bourke Street building was managed under a construction management delivery. All works were undertaken while the store remained trading requiring extensive establishment of safe works zones and fire management procedures.
